Networking and best practice at 4D creative

4dexhange2

Last week we welcomed practitioners from our network of schools for the second 4D exchange of the 2014-15 school year.

4D exchange is a regular event where teachers working in 4D immersive spaces can exchange ideas, best practice and resources with each other. It’s also an opportunity to hear from the 4D team about new tips and tricks that will help you make the most out of your immersive space.

The afternoon featured a huge range of topics including examples of use from practitioners, a demo of our new software, a presentation on a PHD project researching immersive learning and discussions on the next batch of immersive content 4D will be developing.

Explore a gallery of the event below:

As ever, it was fantastic to meet with creative and enthusiastic practitioners who use their immersive spaces for a wide variety of activities. These conversations also help shape how we develop our software and immersive content.

Our next 4D exchange will take place in February 2015 and all the details will be online soon. If you have an immersive space in your school, then we’d love for you to join us.

The start of 2013 has seen lots of developments for us at 4D. In four short months we have…

Installed 8 permanent immersive spaces including our first in a healthcare setting.

And our diary is already filling up for the coming months. The photo above is from the superb new hall space at Worsbrough Common Primary School in Barnsley.

Developed the 4D Pop Up and the first orders are already coming in.

The first Pop Ups will be delivered in July. Get in touch to find out more about our portable immersive spaces.

Moved offices to our fantastic new space at the heart of MediaCityUK.

Come and see us at our base, we have a full immersive space, the 4D Pop Up to see and we’ll buy you lunch!

Expanded our team including new content creators, .Net developers and more.

We’ve already moved into extra space in our new offices as the team has grown so much. Flattering photos of the new staff will be on the website soon!

What’s next.

Whilst schools take a well earned break over the summer, our installations team get even busier with July and August  looking packed already.

4D Pop Up will be going on tour around the country soon. There will be lots of chances to explore and experience this new space – we’re so excited to show you.

Our software is going from strength to strength with a new tablet version soon and the launch of our online resource centre – download new immersive content direct to your system!

Pop Up Immersive Spaces Preview Video

As we announced in December, 4D creative are currently developing mobile immersive spaces. Our new inflatable pods will give you an inspirational immersive environment but without the need for a fixed space. 4D will of course still be installing permanent immersive spaces but we’re also aware that lots of schools need a more flexible solution.

The new product will have everything you need for an inspirational immersive space. An inflatable pod will give you the foundations whilst projection, light, and sound will be powered from a tablet device running our 4D create software. At the end of the lesson, the pod deflates, the kit is returned to the specially designed flight case and all can be stored away quickly and easily.

We took a prototype version of the pod on the road last year and here’s a video to give you a hint of what is ahead.

Whilst the fine details are currently being confirmed, our aim is for the first pods to be delivered to customers in early April and you will be able to place an order very soon. For more information send us an email or fill in the form below.

This week we have welcomed some of our current clients to our offices to check out our new software. Staff from Heaton School, The Grange, The TEN Centre, Wade Deacon School, Witton Park CLC and Harwood Meadows visited our demo space and were blown away by what they saw!

4D create is the result of many hours of development, programming and testing but we are delighted with the finished software. We now have a piece of bespoke software that is easy to use and super simple to programme meaning pupils and teachers can upload their own content and create their own immersive experience in minutes.
